Whoever has grown up in Bangalore , studied in the engineering colleges in & around this city (say like Tumkur) and dropped by the city with friends once in a while , knew the name ‘the pub world’ . The green bower , the music, the old world charm , numerous memories woven around this place ,makes this place special for many. The pensioners paradise became silicon valley of India and the city is ever evolving. With every evolution we adopt. We bid adieu to old friends , habits .So did many people who used to hang around this place. Probably , some could boast even their fathers hanged around this place or their parents met here.

The same place now houses – @1522thepubblr . Few young entrepreneurs have come together to retain the same charm and cater to the current situation and remind people of the legacy this spot nurtures. Since 2004 , when I started working , primarily with American trainers and clients , I was introduced to this wonderful idea of thanksgiving .

In 2018 when I traveled to the US for sometime – My sister in Law, Wendy invited us home and revealed the real experience of the tradition. Its a year of paradigm shift . However, on Thanksgiving I did not want to be at home and just eat alone. On the contrary, in spite of a whining rainy Bangalore day, at about 9 p.m. when the rain stopped ,I stepped out & I chose this place to have a quiet meal. I shall be honest , on Instagram I had seen their creative about #thanksgivingspecialmenu and that was the decision maker. I recalled 2 years back when we started the day with mimosas at Wendy’s kitchen. We met Jessica and Mark for the first time and I believe the day is etched now forever in my head . I was experiencing a mental time travel.

Here I started with a gin based cocktail, followed by a whiskey based and finished with chilli amore along with a salad, starters and a Turkey Cordon bleu & finished with an amazing English Bread Butter Pudding.  In between I enjoyed my interactions with Nakul & Prateek who are the brain behind this place.. It didn’t feel like we are meeting for the first time. They are starting Sunday breakfast now on and I am very very eager to check it out.
