Masala Mandi – Invoking Old Memories

After over a year of break from real work I am getting back to the grind. After many weeks my calendar has started showing multiple calls at the same time , where I toggled , jumped in and out of calls etc. In one way it’s nice, on the other hand it was ‘fatigant’ (as its called in French, read tiring in English).

The best way to reward oneself after a looooong day at work is to relish a good meal , where food is either served to your table or you can lazily grill at your pace on the table.

I visited this #newplace in #sarjapur …. The concept might not sound new ,but the ambiance was grand , rather regal I must say.

IMG-20191213-WA0013.jpgCurrently it’s a #buffet only place for lunch as well as dinner , right on #Sarjapur road. They serve live Grills on the table , starters on the side …. Which includes chaats too. Tried the Mirchi bhajji, dahi bhalla, dahi papdi .After such a packed day this set that moment where I felt the day is ending ,it’s finally a transition time.

IMG-20191213-WA0010.jpgAfter briefly trying the live Grills (chicken , prawn , fish and chef special cottage cheese) I moved to the mains .

img-20191213-wa0005.jpgThe metal plate and bowls could be used to make it look like a customized ‘thali’ where you can take what you like , as much as you need or want to.The mains were very fulfilling. It had a homely touch to it. Loved the kadi pakodi and gobi the most and of course the biriyani.

I finished my meal with quite a few desserts to give myself that sugar rush , for the road and the Bangalore traffic.

IMG-20191213-WA0000.jpgThey also had the paanwala at the entrance. So be it while entering or leaving – you can put one freshly packed ‘beeda’ inside your mouth and savour your experience.

The entire experience re-kindled those memories when #livegrills on the table where ’emerging’ and going to these places as part of a big family gathering or office parties were the norm .
