For the past few months , every time I passed by, I told my husband , we need to visit this place. Opportunity came knocking through a Food Bloggers Meet.
Very prominently placed in Indiranagar ,Bombay Brasserie is a mix of all things, good – classy setup, superb branding, good Indian food teamed with great presentation, warm and understanding crew & run passionately by the young man Santhosh Rajashekaran, who feels this is not just an investment but his “own baby”.

The starters were very nicely presented. I almost only munched on them and was full. Aam papad paneer, Chilli cheese kulcha (oh my my, being an ardent cheese lover , I gorged on it & it melted in the mouth), Naga gosht pepper wings, Spicy pahadi mushrooms, Calcutta Club fish and fries (nostalgic & the bong me, really really loved it) , Kashmiri Naan kebab and Old Delhi Murgh.
Both the mocktails and cocktails with their unique concoctions, presentation & branding made them stand out . Being the “self professed Rum fan” I loved the Fauji Party Special 🍹 . Also tried “Molly Lolly” , for the first time a tequila based cocktail with a popsicle
🍹 which gradually melts n adds to the charm of your drink as you sip. I also sipped other drinks from fellow friends crowd the Kairi sherbet ( a mango based drink , similar to aam panna), Jaipur Gulab ( pauva cocktail ) & Calcutta Kick (accompanied with a paan/betel leaf)
( P.S. I still am in love the old names like “calcutta”/ “Bombay” & love to see it that way, rather than Kolkata/mumbai. So you can well estimate my pleasure , to see the old name retained in the menu. Declaration – this is strictly personal opinion)

The main course was also a fancy affair with a pot of dum biryani , which is still covered with the roti which you need to cut upon and then dig in to the biriyani. Very nice Bombay Lunch home veg curry & sticky rice in banana leaf ( can you believe it, i am writing about veg food ), Bombay dabba gosht (mutton curry topped with an egg, which I could not miss) & red-hot Kerala fish curry served in stoneware which I savoured with the different looking Brown rice.

Last but not the least, the innovative desserts: the amritsari kulfi (brought to the table with fumes … which makes you crave for it all the more & Bombay ice cream sandwich (simple things put together & made gorgeous because of the presentation)

Last attraction of the night Prakash & Deepika Padukone having quiet family dinner à la même temps et à la même place!!! (Strictly private affair , so no photographs allowed. We respected it with heavy heart ….)
