Myriads of reasons to remember – Rural Blues

In times like this a lot of time is spent in remembering the good times we are blessed with … Like the fratelli wines dinner menu at Ruralblues restobar last week. A place which was in my mind for over 18-20 months, since it opened the doors.

We started with an amuse bouche , followed by ‘prawns go banana’ (prawn marinated with bydagi chilli served with puli inji sabayon. This was paired with their Fratelli #chenin.wp-1584753979974.jpg

The next course set our hearts go fluttering – little cheese paradise. Bocconcini, carrot puree with an assortment of micro flora. If salads be like this, I can have it every second hour !!wp-1584753980056.jpg
In entree for the non vegetarians they had fillo mutton raan parcels (Mutton leg cooked with 8 whole spices, curd and Kashmiri chillies wrapped in a fillo parcel ) – this was paired with their #merlot . In this course the vegetarians boasted about the Asparagus Forest , and we could not be left behind.
wp-1584753979917.jpgIn main course we had ghee roast chicken leg with Hasselback potato which was paired with M S Red , for a Bengali soul the ‘murgir thyang and aloo bhaja’ can’t ever go wrong. Even the non chicken hearted person like me could not  stop until I finished.

Once we finished my main course I heard the word ‘thoran’ and just couldn’t ask for a handing of the same and I realized I would have really  missed this pure bliss , if I was not a bit greedy that night. The sous chef is from God’s own country and this was his staple. The flavours sipped thoroughly – at each morsel we had.

Chef Amit , surely showed his mastery at every course , with the micro greens , artistically toning down the ingredients to match up each wine served that night.

wp-1584753980075.jpgI love sit down dinners. The socializing takes a backseat and we actually open up with each sip or bite. We know our co-diners better. It was fascinating to hear from Girija how the love of hosting House parties actually paved the way for Rural Blues.

A memorable dinner indeed.
